Egyptian rapper Arsenik has announced that he will be starring in the film ‘Five Rounds,’ the first Arabic film about MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) that is set to premiere during this Eid Al Fitr movie season. This marks the exciting debut of the rapper’s film acting career: he shared with his Instagram followers that the acting role is his ‘first cinematic experience.’
The film is highly-anticipated in light of its all-star cast that includes Adam El Sharkawy from the Egyptian TV series ‘Newton’s Cradle’ in 2021, and Nour El Nabawy known for his role in ‘The Choice,’ both of which were critically-acclaimed Ramadan series from two years ago. Directed by Mazen Ashraf and produced by Alamaz Film Production, with the screenplay written by Mohamed Abdelmoti, ‘Five Rounds’ also features established actors like Maged El Masry, alongside rising stars Dalia Shawky and Mostafa Darwish.
Meanwhile, since the success of Arsenik’s debut release ‘El She2’ in 2019, the Assyut-born rap artist has made a name for himself in Egypt’s music scene. Over the years, he has become largely known for his quality lyricism and diverse flows on songs such as ‘Bruno,’ a bolshy drill piece featuring Batistuta and produced by Rashed.
The film will also serve as the acting debut of Aida el Ayoubi, best known for her unique musical career spanning back to the 1980s, with hits like ‘Ala Baly’ and ‘Asfour.’ Stayed this Eid, for the release of ‘Five Rounds.’
