Draganov & Tif Cycle Through Late-Night Beats on Joint EP ‘UFUL’
North African rap stars Draganov & Tif team up on 'UFUL', a smooth, sun-drenched EP blending electric keys and R&B grooves.
With a smooth, nostalgic late-summer joint EP, two of North Africa’s biggest rap stars - Moroccan hitmaker Draganov and Algerian powerhouse TIF - join forces on ‘UFUL'. The three-track project fuses warm organic instrumentation with sleek contemporary melodic rap, trading percussive bars over sun-drenched aesthetics.
Opening track 'Couci Couca' immediately locks into a beach-ready, highly textured palette. Built around bright electric piano chords and layered hand percussion, the track balances subtle background guitar riffs with a bouncing groove. Draganov opens with his signature smooth yet rhythmic flow, anchoring the beat before TIF steps in with a sharper, more direct cadence that forces the instrumental to flex around his delivery.
The project turns inward on 'Moon Walk’, shifting the electric keys into a far more somber, melancholic register. Minimalist at first, the track hinges on implied rhythm while TIF delivers an open, vulnerable vocal line. Weighty 808s and delicate, tapping percussion gradually seep into the arrangement, setting up a reflective verse from Draganov as a grounding kick drum pulls the track together. The two artists trade back-and-forth verses, leaning into themes of distance and lost love.
Closing track ‘Vida’ eases back into a warmer, rhythm-focused pocket, offering a slow-burn groove anchored by classical guitar licks and a relaxed R&B drum pattern. Stripping away the heavy 808s of the preceding track, both rappers lean into effortlessly smooth bars over the laid-back instrumental, ending the project on a melodic, lingering high.
Ultimately, UFUL operates as a fluid exchange between two major regional voices, using atmospheric production and instinctual vocal chemistry to build a seamless, cohesive project.
