SceneNoise Presents: Inside Sandbox [Episode 1] Music Curation
Ahead of its 2026 edition on May 7th-9th, SceneNoise dives into the inner workings of Egypt's Sandbox Festival in an exclusive three-part mini-documentary.
In exclusive three-part series, ‘Inside Sandbox’, SceneNoise gets to the heart of the invisible engine that powers one of the region’s most iconic electronic music festivals. Since its inception over a decade ago, Sandbox by Nacelle has evolved from an intimate seaside gathering into a monumental, annual cultural moment in El Gouna, Red Sea - one that brings together thousands from across the world each and every year.
For episode one, we dive into the core of the festival experience: the music curation. Behind the list of names we see, the Sandbox lineup is a balancing act designed to immerse festival-goers into universe of different worlds for fifty hours straight.
Speaking to Nacelle’s founder and CEO, Tito El Khachab, and its head of artist booking and management, Aly Goede, we explore what is a meticulous orchestration of sound, focusing on the of building a lineup that values discovery as much as it does big names, the psychological flow of energy throughout the day, and the construction of an experience that pulls thousands into a three-day alternate reality.
Sandbox Festival is set to take place May 7th-9th. Tickers are available at sandboxfestival.com.
