Beirut’s Iconic Club B 018 Set to Reopen in 2026
The legendary club in Beirut’s Karantina neighbourhood is returning to reignite the city’s cultural landscape.
A Beirut landmark that has defined the region’s underground music scene for three decades, B 018 is officially returning to the city's nightlife circuit this year.
The return of the legendary club comes at a critical time for Beirut’s cultural landscape. Following the 2020 port explosion and the subsequent economic collapse, the club’s 2018 closure felt to many like the extinguishing of the city's primary pulse point.
While an official date remains under wraps, the reopening marks an unexpected revival for a venue that architect Bernard Khoury famously designed as a ‘black hole’ in the city’s fabric - a sunken structure built on the site of a 1976 massacre. Since transitioning from Naji Gebran’s 1980s musical therapy sessions to the permanent Karantina plot in 1998, B 018 has stood as a sanctuary for a city.
