Rap of the Week | Oct 27 - Nov 2
This week's playlist features new music from the likes of Shaw, Abyusif and Najm.
In the latest edition of ‘Rap of the Week’, SceneNoise’s flagship playlist spotlighting fresh releases from across the MENA rap and hip-hop scene, we've scoured the region for its very best.
Moroccan rap star Shaw returns with ‘CARAPACE’, a melodic, danceable cut exploring the intersection of trap and electronic dance music, while rising rapper Najm delivers a double release with ‘THUGCLUB x 9OWA’.
Syrian rapper Bu Kolthoum joins forces with Wingz, Gal3y and Ta9chira on SBAA3 BEIN DBAA3, a mosh pit-inducing EP produced by El’Muttbukh Records. The collaborative project brings together the Levantine and North African hip-hop scenes, with a particular focus on Tunisia.
Meanwhile, Egyptian rapper Abyusif pushes his experimentation with trap and alt-rock further on the introspective ‘LESA’, while Shahyn links up with longtime collaborator Coolpix for ‘Primo’.
The playlist also includes Aymane Haqqi’s ‘Bohemian’s Avenue’, featuring Soukaina Fahsi and Smallx, Asayel’s ‘Dobbanah’, and Montiyago’s ‘Mawawel’.
