Asia Madani: Sudanese Folklore Night

Sudanese vocalist and percussionist Asian Madani will take the stage at Room Art Space to showcase her percussive Sudanese folk music on the 8th of December. Tickets are available at e7gezly.



MazzikaxElSat7: Basheer Album Release @ Darb 1718

Darb 1718 are throwing another one of their monthly musical nights, Mazzika x El Sat7 where Mohamed Basheer will showcase his new album. The artist's influence come from the Ja'ffary culture in Upper Egypt, and he aims to merge these sounds with western band instruments such as the drums, bass guitar, among others. Join the folkloric experience at Darb on the 7th of December. 


Audio Damiana Ft. Kim Ann Foxman/Aly B/$$$TAG$$$ 07/12

The guys at Audio Damiana are bringing Kim Ann Foxman, a regular at Panorama Bar in Berlin and a resident at Good Room in Brooklyn. She is known for her nostalgic sound, sprinkled with distinctive vocals, which will add something fresh to the current scene being saturated with the minimal trend. Local veteran Aly B will be opening the night as well as KIK member Tag, who could be playing a techno set and the next second confuse you by dropping some hip hop. Audio Damiana are partnering up with Qube to ease the booking process. 



Sakanat Studio Sessions Ft. Darshan Jesrani 08/12

Sakanat studio is throwing their first party with a lineup including Darshan Jesrani coming in from New York, Klady (caché), local hero Ahmed Samy (noname) and the Sakanat man himself Mazen Hamdy. The music will include organic funk, disco and house and promises an intimate setting with no more than 150 people. 



Richard Clayderman @ The Marquee/Cairo Festival City 08/12
French pianist Richard Clayderman is coming to Cairo to soothe the ears and hearts of the Egyptian people with the touch of his ten fingers. The event will take place at the Cairo Festival City on the 8th of December. Tickets are available at Tickets Marche.


Restless Leg Syndrome/Sotusura @ CJC 13/12
On the 13th, Restless Leg Syndrome and Sotusura will play at Cairo Jazz Club. Restless Leg Syndrome  are  an Austrian outfit who specialise in sampling old genres and merging them with danceable beats. Sotusura is a palestinian hip hop DJ based in LA who has amassed 20 years of experience in his career. He regularly tours between Ramallah, Amman and Cairo showing the Arab world how they won those DJ championships. 

Maurice Louca/Porest @ CJC 14/12

Maurice Louca does various things in the music industry such as being in bands, playing live with his solo project and producing music for videos. On the 14th he will play at Cairo Jazz Club with Porest who refer to their music as “hate pop" and "agitprop sound art" and "diabolical radio dramas.” I’m not too sure what that means, but looking forward to be informed. 



Outside Vol. 2 Ft. Sonja Moonear/Sepp & More 15/12

Desimana and Zigzag are back again with their second edition of Outside on the 15th of December bringing us one of the most prominent house artists on the planet, Sonja Moonear. The party will take place at the same venue as the last Outside where Sonja will headline, supported by local heroes Jorg, Zeina, Aroussi and a live set by virtuoso Hassan Abou Alam. Other than a mental lineup, they are taking things further this time as Desimana turns the tables by inviting all outsiders to an after party on a boat which will pick people up from the island and cruise the Nile as Mazen, Ahmed Samy, and Sepp grace us with sets.



Noname TBA 22/12

No Hypes, nofrills; Noname will be planning a special christmas party on the 22nd of December. With an aesthetic purely focused on the music, they will curate a night that features Lee Burton (Six D.O.G.S) coming in from Athens, locals Ahmed Samy b2b Nosrat and Aroussi b2b Jorg. 

Also, Omar Foda will be shifting from his live band performances to a DJ set. 

The party will take place at Desimana's Abandoned Ship, with christmas presents like free gluhwein and more. If you're asking yourself what the hell gluhwein is, you'll know soon enough.

Back from their hiatus, Nacelle commute to El Gouna to bring you a house fiesta on the Red Sea. The party includes a stellar lineup which features three international veteran DJs: Cab Drivers, Dj Wild and Dinky as well as locals Aly B and Joey. It is nice to see them steer away from the usual deep house artists who they've been booking and going towards more underground and organic direction inside the realm of house.
