‘EgyBest’ EP Is Officially Out ft. Abyusif, Mond, Hady Moamer & More
After its March release in cinemas, the 'EgyBest' hype train continues with its official EP.
On March 19th, the long-awaited Egyptian film ‘EgyBest’ - marking the acting debut of rapper Marwan Pablo - landed in cinemas alongside news of an accompanying EP featuring a cross-section of local rap and electronic artists. That EP is now officially out on all streaming platforms and it brings together some of the country's best.
Spanning four tracks, the project operates as an extension of the film’s narrative, weaving together shaabi, trap, and more experimental textures. Abyusif leads with ‘Shoghle’, a distorted, left-leaning cut that pulls from the industrial edge of Mission: Impossible 2-era soundtracks, nodding to bands like Metallica and Limp Bizkit.
Showkey and DJ Totti’s ‘Le3bt’ leans fully into mahraganat, pairing abrasive electronics with the unruly energy of the film’s early plotline, while Mond’s ‘Leeh?’ slows things down with a more introspective, melodic turn. On ‘2x1’, Hady Moamer and Tarek El Sheikh bridge generational sounds, folding classic shaabi sensibilities into a contemporary electronic framework.
Directed by Marwan Abdelmoniem, ‘EgyBest’ follows two friends who build a piracy empire that evolves into one of the Arab world’s most notorious platforms. Alongside Pablo, the film features an ensemble of prominent Egyptian actors like Ahmed Malek and Salma Abu Deif.
