Select 396: Mixed by YIM-KIN
The Saudi Arabian DJ brings a refreshing mix of UKG, footwork, Juke and ghettotech, featuring cuts by talented producers like JMT and PJ Bridgers.
This week on SceneNoise’s Select, we spotlight Saudi Arabian DJ and event curator YIM-KIN, one of the Kingdom’s exciting talents to keep an eye out for. With a penchant for global club sounds mutations, YIM-KIN has carved a signature sound that threads micro-genres of Baile funk, Chicago jukes, footwork and UK bass, crafting feel-good sets that are deeply rooted in dance culture.
His Select mix is not only a tribute to key voices in the current UKG wave, such as Drez, PJ Bridgers, and Yoto Swords, but also spotlights the new age of Footwork and ghettotech. Halfway through the set, YIM-KIN highlights a roster of producers who are pushing for fresh directions in the Footwork and Juke scene, such as JMT and DJ Manny, capturing a snapshot of where the sound is headed next.
