Anghami Majority Stakeholder OSN Launches Bid for Full Ownership

Regional media and entertainment giant, OSN, has announced plans to acquire the remaining shares of Anghami it does not already own, a move that would bring the music streaming platform fully under its control and result in its Nasdaq delisting.

The proposed acquisition marks the latest step in the integration between the two companies following their merger last year, as OSN looks to expand its footprint across MENA’s digital entertainment landscape.

Founded in 2012, Anghami became the Arab world’s first homegrown music streaming platform, building one of the region’s largest digital music catalogues and establishing itself as a major player in MENA’s streaming ecosystem.

The move comes amid strong growth for the combined OSN-Anghami business. In FY2025, Anghami reported revenue of $99.3 million, up 27% year-on-year, while its combined paid subscriber base with OSN+ surpassed 3.5 million. Total registered users across the platform also climbed past 130 million.

The figures suggest growing demand for broader entertainment ecosystems that combine music, podcasts and video under one umbrella, as OSN and other regional players look to compete against global giants like Spotify, YouTube and Netflix.
