E-Evil’s rise in the Egyptian rap scene is as raw and unorthodox as his nickname suggests. A craftsman by trade, he discovered his knack for rap while plastering studio walls. A random beat playing in the background sparked a freestyle moment that would catapult him into the spotlight.

Within days, his first viral video amassed over a million views, and suddenly, his music was everywhere. Despite his newfound fame, E-Evil never abandoned his roots, calling rap "the boldest thing" where he could express whatever he wanted. For him, it's been a 12-year journey of experimenting, finding his voice, and building a following one rhyme at a time.

We spoke to E-Evil, who opened up about his journey and his love for hip-hop. A chance trip to Dahab marked a turning point in his career. Performing his song ‘Allah Ghaleb’ at a local café was meant to be a one-off experiment, but the response was overwhelming. Guests demanded encores, and the venue owner insisted he perform regularly.

This serendipitous stint led to a year of live shows amidst Dahab’s serene mountains, solidifying his presence in the scene. Yet, E-Evil’s journey wasn’t without hardship - setbacks like channel closures, personal challenges, and literal ceilings collapsing on him tested his resolve. Now, with lessons learned, he’s stepping forward, determined to make a lasting impact, fueled by resilience and gratitude for what’s next.
