One of Egypt's biggest international dance music exports, Dubfunk – a.k.a Mohamed Hegab – has been one of the world's strongest contenders in the progressive house scene, having been picked up by Dave Seaman's Audio Therapy at the start of his music production career. Dubfunk went on to mix compilations for one of the world's biggest underground labels, Global Underground, recording mixes for some of the label's hottest compilations, including Electric Calm, Digitised, and 5 Years Of GU. He toured the world playing at several legendary clubs, like Turnmills in London, Big One in Buenos Aires, and Chinese Laundry in Sydney, among several other notorious underground destinations. Now, Dubfunk is mixing and producing underground techno and house music through his own label, Dyami Records, and through other international underground imprints. He supplies episode eight of our weekly electronic series.Deep house, tech house, and techno highlight this episode, touching on some very subtle and edgy progressive tunes. The set features music by Ryan Davis, Inbetween Worlds, Nils Penner, Dinky, Edu Imbernon, and many more. A deep, ethnic mix that progress subtly, it utilises an Oriental vibe but doesn't bank on it through out the set. It starts with an ethereal vibe before progressing into a more hard drive mix, a perfect way to end a good night out or to start your weekend mornings. Play this at the after party, in the car while driving back from the club, or on a weekend evening over some drinks, and you will be fixed.
