We here at SceneNoise have decided it is high time we start reviewing sets. With all the sets being posted online we know that you poor kids must be saturated in house music; so, using our sacred and secret musical powers and musical prowess, we will sift through the sea of sets and podcasts posted every week and give you handpicked pieces by the best DJs in the world.
We start with electronic music producer and old school DJ Shiha. One of Egypt's hidden electronic music gems, his contributions in the progressive house genre are well documented in releases on various international underground record labels. On his podcast series, Clubbing Purposes, Shiha stems away from his progressive roots and explores the vast expanse of the electronic underground. In this episode, the 12th in the series, the artist starts out with an extremely obscure track by bedrock artist Marst. The set is very eclectic – ethereal at parts, at others bouncy and dance-inducing. Includes tracks by TEELCO, D33P, Oxia, Alex Flatner, and Lopazz among others. A well-rounded series, Clubbing Purposes works well in many situations; episode 12 specifically works best when you're already halfway through the night, leaving the club, or at the after party. We wait patiently for episode 13.
