Egyptian-born rapper 4N The Human is back with another wild music video, this time courtesy of Kitchen Films and produced in association with Mina Nabil Films and all-star video production house DROOGS.
The video follows 4N The Human, dressed like some fusion of a 70s hippie and a biker goon, experiencing an intense, acid-tinged vision quest through the Egyptian desert. The kaleidoscopic and impressive visual mayhem — courtesy of writer/director/editor Mohamed Hafez — really does feel like a psychedelic trip gone wrong.
Through the just-over 6-minute video, we see 4N in the middle of what's pretty much a drug-fueled psychological meltdown, traversing through a variety of strange desert locales, eventually rushing feet first into a fully animated dreamscape while being chased by an imposing, masked figure.
A twangy, off-kilter guitar leads the melodics on ‘Till It’s Done’ with the rhythmic duties being held down by a concise, organic boom-bap drum kit and a deep bass-guitar, courtesy of collaborating producer Lethal Needle.
Despite the trippy video and 4N The Human’s nonchalant flow, the lyrics to ‘Till It’s Done’ detail the intense personal struggle of overcoming loss, fear of burning out too fast, and the pressures of rebelling against conventional education.
Obviously amongst these themes are numerous references to casual drug usage and commitment to ‘the game,’ but ‘Till It’s Done’ ultimately shows that 4N The Human isn't afraid to get into deeply personal territory on his rhymes, a step many of those in Egypt’s rap scene are unwilling to take.
