Farsa Releases Timeless Club EP ‘Promiscuous Dubz’ on Step Ball Chain

Beirut-based DJ and producer Farsa has made a striking debut on Roza Terenzi’s imprint Step Ball Chain with a four-track EP, Promiscuous Dubz. Marking the nineteenth catalogue entry for the powerhouse Berlin-based label, the 12” vinyl is a masterclass in intentional, timeless club music that showcases Farsa’s wide musical range.

On the A side, the title track acts as the core centrepiece of the EP. Built around a grounded, low-end swing, it is propelled by an irresistible bounce that starts in the bass frequency and builds upward, blending moody, dub-infused elements with playful, flirtatious tech-house grooves. On the same side, there is a bratty, breakneck remix of the title track by the label head honcho, Roza Terenzi. Injecting her signature fast-paced, high-energy aesthetic, this rework flips the sultry original into a hyperactive, club-focused track loaded with snappy breaks, heavy bass, and cheeky dancefloor attitude.

On the flip side, ‘The Sound On The Otherside’ delves into the more introspective, head-space side of the record, relying on atmospheric soundscapes and deeper sub-bass textures. Meanwhile, ‘Hammer of Witches’, the vinyl closer, turns things up with a darker, more hypnotic edge. Combining driving rhythm sections with stylish, moody synthesiser work, the track is a chic yet intense finish that caps off the EP’s freaky, introspective journey.

Farsa may be an inconspicuous name for now, but Promiscuous Dubz makes a compelling case for a producer on the cusp of wider acclaim.
