TAG Blends Egyptian Pop with Retro-Synth Nostalgia on '3ALA 3EINY’

TAG's latest single '3ALA 3EINY' marks a confident step in a new direction for the Egyptian artist. Released on Cairo-based RAAD Records, the track draws on the warmth of early-2000s Arabic pop, but filters it through a distinctly retro lens: bouncy, synth-driven, and built around a squiggly main line. It's Egyptian pop reimagined through 80s synth textures, and the result is catchy and danceable.

Lyrically, the song looks beyond the collapse of a break-up, and through to what comes after. TAG has described it as a turning point, born out of a period of real difficulty, and that shift in perspective has become a source of inspiration for the new sound he's been building. From this mindset, the track draws on a quiet resolve, choosing not to reopen old wounds and recognizing one's own worth instead of wallowing in what's already passed.

Production-wise, '3ALA 3EINY' is understated where it counts. TAG produced the track himself alongside HatemBas, keeping the arrangement vocal-led so the lyrics have space to land. A tabla rhythm runs under the main synth pads, there's a synth solo through the middle, and the second verse strips back to just pads, SFX, and vocals before building out again. TAG's vocal performance carries it with assured melodies and delivery.
