If you know your Ancient Egyptian history, you might be familiar with the name Heracleion - a city currently in ruins underwater near Alexandria. If you know your trance music, however, you might already know that Heracleion is a brand new festival presented by Heineken® on the shores of the Red Sea’s Soma Bay in collaboration with Egyptian trance paragons, Aly & Fila, Future Sound of Egypt, Soma Bay & organized by Events Plus. Now Aly & Fila are no strangers to giant productions that draw in tens and even hundreds of thousands of people at a time, from their FSOE podcast milestone celebrations in The Great Pyramids and Karnak Temple, to playing in the biggest festivals annually. This year the FSOE 550th episode celebrations turn to join forces with Heineken®. The brand has long been a supporter of music both regionally and internationally providing some of the most unique festival experiences around, and this seems to be no exception thanks to their "live your music" ethos.

While trance music may be fast for some, Heracleion will feature a progressive house day, too, while drawing in international headliners spanning different genres like techno, progressive and melodic house. Taking place October 5th- 6th, Aly & Fila will be joined by legendary progressive house DJ/producer, Sasha, esteemed German house duo, Âme, Cosmic Gate, Stoneface & Terminal, John 00 Fleming and up-and-coming Ukranian melodic house duo, Artbat.

Other international acts include Ferry Tayle, who’ll be playing a b2b set with Dan Stone, Gai Barone, FSOE UV boss Paul Thomas and New Jersey based artist Monoverse, along with local trance musicians like A&Z, Hazem Beltagui, Fady & Mina, Ashmawy, Ampish, Omar Reda and veterans Amir Sharara and Philipe El Sisi. Tickets are available through the Events Plus Egypt website and more info regarding venues and set times will be announced, but for now they’ve definitely locked in the attention of the trance and electronic music community in Egypt with such a lineup and location. Head to Heracleion's official event page for more info on how to secure your place at what is shaping up to be one of the biggest music events of the year in Egypt and the Middle East.
