For the third edition of the XP Music Futures Conference from 7th-9th December in Jax District Riyadh, MDLBEAST will be hosting three days of innovative talks, transformative workshops, and eye-opening musical discoveries - a one-of-a-kind event that brings MENA’s thriving creative community together with a melting pot of local, regional and global spearheads of the music industry.
To get music heads around the world excited, XP Music Futures have announced their first wave of ‘Day’ speakers and ‘Nite’ artists as well as the collective and labels that will be partnering with for the Nite program.
For XP Day, the first wave of speakers released are Emirati singer and actress Balqees Fathi, Aeon Collective founding partner HH Mashael Alshalan, legendary Egyptian rapper Abyusif, CEO of Reservoir Media Management Golnar Khostowshali. Also part of the list are interaction designer and media artist Christopher Bauder, Factory People’s Wassim Bou Halim, Jordanian singer Reina Khoury, and programmer Tracey Bakala. SceneNoise will also be hosting a production workshop with Grammy-nominated producer Khaled Rohaim. 200 speakers will be imparting their wisdom across more than 120 sessions.
For XP Nite, they have announced that they are partnering with a varied list of more than 25 regional collectives and labels from more than 20 countries including Wall of Sound, Ego Record, Brij Ent, madhaūs, and Vortex. The Nite artists that have been announced are music collective Tinariwen, rock band TootArd, DJ Korea Town Acid, Satoshi Tomie, selector Doudou MD, Saudi DJ Cosmicat and Egyptian artist El Waili. Abyusif has also been announced as performing for XP Nite in collaboration with SceneNoise. Expect every genre under the sun from more than 100 artists as part of the Nite program across six different dance floors from House, Techno and Disco to Afro-fusion, RnB and Blues & Rock.
To facilitate this empowerment of the MENA music scene, XP Music Futures is working with a number of partners that are supporting the conference and in turn driving its growth. These partners include The Saudi Music Commission, JAX District, Youtube, Warner Music, Dolby, IFPI, Merwas, The Media Nanny, and Scene Noise.
