Vinyl Souk Reveals Line-Up for Mini Festival in Dubai on February 1st
Set to take place at 25Hourse Hotel One Central, the event is set to being together live music, screenings, workshops, a colourful pop-up market and more.
The Dubai-based Vinyl Souk has announced another edition of its popular Mini Festival series, returning to the 25Hours Hotel One Central for an eclectic day of music on February 1st.
Kicking off from 4PM, the event will serve up a sprawling showcase for the region's alternative arts scene, bringing together a roster of regional heavyweights and emerging experimentalists. The line-up offers a massive musical stylistic range, ranging from the sophisticated electronic production of Egypt’s Hassan Abou Alam, to the soulful, indie-inflected melodies of Esther Eden and the border-crossing sounds of Lebanese acts like Postcards, Snakeskin, and Karen Sakr.
The festival’s collaborative spirit manifests in takeovers from collectives including the Feedasoul Records family with JAZ, PATCH, and Koba Maru leading the charge. International presence comes in the form of Vik Sohonie of Ostinato Records, while the regional flavour is maintained by Bahrain’s DUST and the UAE’s own Somalie, Elijah Semine, and Kinda.
Beyond music, Mini Festival places a sharp focus on other artforms, including narrative and visual storytelling, with the event set to host the UAE premiere of the Bahraini film, Mixtape, a short that captures the nostalgic relationship between memory and physical media. In addition, DMC Middle East (Disco Mix Club) will be hosting a special showcase and workshop, while attendees can also explore a colourful marketplace of record pop-ups and music vendors.
General admission tickets are AED 150, and are available via tickit.co.
