Every year on June 21st, France and its institutions worldwide celebrate La Fête de la Musique, or World Music Day, a global celebration of music in all its forms. Egypt joins the festivities, with the Institut Français d’Égypte traditionally hosting a festival.
This year, the Institut Français d’Égypte and the Goethe-Institut Cairo join forces to bring back the celebration. Festivities kick off on June 21st in Alexandria and in Cairo, the festival will take place at Al Azhar Park on June 22nd and 23rd. The festival boasts a diverse lineup featuring artists like Ein L Aql, Mayam Saleh, Ahmed Eid and Ilyf, Aqsa Alwasat, Electro Zebala, and Karim Osama. Entry is free and open to the public.
