Le Guess Who? - currently one of the world’s most forward-thinking music festivals dedicated to amplifying musical talents from across the globe - has recently announced the full lineup for its 17th edition, taking place in Utrecht, the Netherlands from November 7th-10th.
This year, with the help of guest curator and Pakistani Grammy award winning artist Arooj Aftab, the festival is bringing a slew of prominent artists from the MENA region across various genres, from rap and alt-pop to indie-folk and electronic music.
The lineup features Palestinian producer Al Nather, prolific rapper Shabjdeed, Egyptian folk singer-songwriter Dina El Wedidi, Syrian/Lebanese alt-pop group Bedouin Burger and Saudi/Bahraini DJ Nooriyah.
Montreal-based Lebanese electronic producer, DJ and performer Lilliane Chlela is also slated to premiere a special project ‘I, The Hybrid and The Antidote’ –featuring a group of regional artists, including, Nancy Mounir, Yara Asmar and Radwan Ghazi Moumneh, as part of the festival’s general programme. Additionally, while it has yet to be announced, Egyptian rap icon Abyusif is also set to perform at the festival. Keep an eye on Le Guess Who’s website for the official announcement.
Meanwhile, Nicolas Jaar’s electronic trio DARKSIDE is bringing Palestinian artists Maya Al Khaldi, Sarona and Dina Mimi to showcase their debut album ‘Ya A’lam’ at the prestigious festival.
As Le Guess Who? is set to take over the entire city center of Utrecht, these artists will be performing across multiple clubs, bars and pop-up venues alongside the festival’s impressive line-up of established international acts.
