Egyptian-American rapper, Ahmed Ghoneim aka 4N The Human, had dropped a new video for his latest single, ‘99 Reasons’, doing so on April 20th, aka 4.20. Coincidence? Well, the Colorado-based artist is seen, quite early in the video, smoking what looks like a joint and the song and video generally boast a hazy, laid-back vibe that teeters on the brink of trippy - a more naturally-induced brand of trippy, if you will.

Possibly playing on Jay-Z’s 99 Problems in its title,  the track features fellow Colorado rhymer, TGP,  and is laced with self-reflection and introspection. Against a smooth  mid-tempo beat with delightfully vague, unstructured, looped melody, the track  is a self-proclaimed truth bomb. The rapper doesn’t hold back in cementing his independence, as well as inability and – more importantly -  unwillingness to adhere to societal expectations. 4N highlights that a traditional lifestyle just isn’t for him, instead choosing an alternative lifestyle.

The video, shot and edited by Andriy Polietov, at points features quick camera movements and fast-changing visuals, aiding the trippy aesthetic. The rappers also ponder various prevalent cultural hypocrisies and solidify their identity as artists, ultimately concluding that music is the ultimate saviour.
