Shuffle | June 11 - July 1
The playlist features new music from some of the region's trailblazers, such as DJ Haram, Issam Alnajjar and Bayou.
This week on Shuffle, SceneNoise’s bi-weekly roundup of standout new releases from across the region, we’re serving up a packed selection of fresh cuts, with highlights from DJ Haram, Issam Alnajjar, Bayou, and more.
New York-based producer DJ Haram teams up with Sha Ray for Critical Thot, a collaborative EP that blurs the boundaries between rap and experimental music. Egyptian pop artist Bayou returns with ‘Wahda W Nos’, a wistful, retro-leaning pop track accompanied by a music video drawing on vintage workout tapes and the iconography of early 2000s Egyptian pop. Elsewhere, Jordanian-Palestinian artist Issam Alnajjar delivers an exuberant dose of pop on ‘TA3ALA’, while Lebanese experimental artist Kid Fourteen continues to push his synth-pop explorations with ‘Hold’, the third single from his forthcoming album, Far Away and Well Adjusted.
Also featured on this week’s playlist are Serge Volant’s ‘Fine Feathers’, Molotof and Rasha Magdy’s ‘Ahlan’, Rita L’Oujdia and Acid Arab’s ‘Ghazal’, Yal Solan’s ‘Nami Nami’, and more.
