This week on Shreet Cocktaill, Lebanese artist and season 5 semi-finalist on ‘The Voice Arabia’, Yamane, makes her way onto the playlist with her debut single ‘90’s Kid’, where she revisits the day-to-day details of the nostalgic decade, comparing the effect of today’s technologies on our lifestyles to that of the tools and gadgets she remembers from childhood.
You can also hear Saudi Arabian artist Salma Murad’s latest single ‘Esh Alsabab’, where her introspective lyrics are complimented by a wistful piano instrumental, gradually evolving into a layered stack of processed vocals and lush pads.
We also heard the latest from Egyptian producer 200 Shams, who delivers a laid-back funk instrumental full of sliced guitar lines and vocal samples, which are held together by a central bassline maintaining the track’s smooth groove. Meanwhile, Amsterdam-based producer Noise Diva gets inventive with her sampling skills, using what seems to be a TikTok sound-bite as the base of her playful release, ‘3addet Kalb’.
