Lebanon’s nightlife virtuoso and house giant Rolbac, and Doha-based electronic producer Anis Hachemi, have just dropped an electrifying rave remix of Gharam Electric’s ‘Ya Boy’.
Gharam Electric, a Beirut-born futuro-Arab act helmed by the visionary Wassim Bou Malham, initially released the track as the namesake debut single of his new label, Ya Boy Records. The track meshes Sai’di, or Upper Egypt Arabic, lyrics into an upbeat catchy hook, weaving elements from funk and R&B with pulsating electronic rhythms.
Rolbac and Hachemi’s remix of ‘Ya Boy’ features high tempo looping beats and syncopated rhythms, with dramatic build-ups that dissolve into powerful and heavy drops hitting hard on the spine.
The atmospheric textures of lush synths and drum patterns present throughout the remix, balance out the intensity of those climactic moments as the beat drops, evoking that trance one feels at the peak moment of a wild rave. It’s hypnotic, energetic and deliciously addictive.
The track’s resonance has found its way into the sets of a slew of prominent global electronic acts like Ame, Dixon and Mano Le Tough just to name a few.
