Randa Shoukry Turns Overthinking Into a Hook on ‘Leh Lesa Bafakar Fek'

Making an impression on Cairo's alternative music scene both as an independent artist and a working musician, Randa Shoukry's distinct guitar style has become a cornerstone of her sound, one that she continues to hone with each release. Her 2025 debut track, 'Hayaty Mestaneyany', looked at the overwhelming chaos of adulthood, but on her latest single, 'Leh Lesa Bafakar Fek', Shoukry turns to a relationship that's lopsided from the start, set to a pop-punk instrumental.

Co-produced by Kubbara, the track opens with a palm-muted guitar line running through modulation effects, giving the riff a slightly seasick wobble. The drums and vocals ground it from there, with Shoukry replaying the mental loop of a relationship where she feels like she's giving more than she's getting.

The track then settles into skater-adjacent energy, jangly chords keeping the momentum building toward the chorus. An earwormy guitar riff and a stuttering vocal edit do the heavy lifting there, with the locked-in drum groove and vocal playing off each other for an infectious hook.

'Leh Lesa Bafakar Fek' finds Shoukry taking a more introspective approach to songwriting, catching herself thinking about a crush and choosing not to act, documenting the moment right before talking herself out of something.
