Husa & Zeyada Soundtracks the Life of Underdogs on New EP 'Pressure'

After months of teasing the project through a string of singles, Canadian-Egyptian electronic duo Husa & Zeyada have finally unveiled their new EP, Pressure. Serving as a prelude to their forthcoming album, To Belong, due out this August via their own label, Soundscool, the four-track release marks another step in the duo's evolving sound, weaving together dark deep house, progressive house, indie dance, synthwave and electronica into something immersive.

Across its four tracks, Pressure unfolds as a portrait of the lives of the underdogs on the margins of the Egyptian metropolis, tracing the emotional weight of navigating uncertainty, ambition and survival. The title track sets the tone with a meditation on enduring the pressures of a capitalist world.

From there, ‘Do You Wanna Know’ turns inward, grappling with uncertainty, faith and the unknowability of the future. Rather than spiralling into existential dread, the track finds comfort in accepting that not every question demands an answer. Musically, it pairs dystopian synthwave textures with deep house rhythms, layering cavernous reverb and ghostly vocal synths into a dense, claustrophobic soundscape.

‘Dawsha’, which translates to ‘noise’ in English, pushes that idea further, embracing chaos rather than resisting it. Rooted in darkwave, the track blends synthwave, progressive electronics and indie dance into a brooding yet propulsive cut that finds beauty in disorder.

Closing the EP, ‘More Love’ offers a softer landing. Built around ambient textures and restrained electronica, with subtle indie dance flourishes, the track is anchored by Zeyada's spectral vocals, ending the record on a reflective, quietly hopeful note.

Rather than relying on dancefloor catharsis alone, Pressure uses club music as a vehicle for introspection, capturing the emotional contradictions of modern city life without losing sight of its groove. It's a concise but cohesive statement that sets the stage for To Belong while hinting at the broader sonic world Husa & Zeyada are building.

Following the release of To Belong, the project will continue with an extensive remix album featuring reinterpretations by Hernán Cattáneo, Fulltone, Gone Deville, Ella Romand, Weird Sounding Dude and a host of additional artists, expanding the album's universe while underscoring the collaborative ethos at the heart of Soundscool.
