Elias Merheb aka 3LIAS, is undeniably one of the most significant artists in the Middle East’s house and techno scene today, and one of its very first pioneers, constantly pushing the boundaries since starting out in the late 90’s. His tenure at the infamous B018 where he was a resident and head of entertainment, ended after a decade long collaboration that started back in 2006 but his mark on the club will forever be felt. 3LIAS plays a distinctive sound that doesn’t pursue trends. Techno, house, broken beats and ambient as well as jazz or funk are of equal importance in his craft. His extended trademark 8 hour sets are a striking assertion of his many influences. Sharing the decks every now an then with young locals has helped pave the way for a crop of homegrown artists to succeed at home and abroad. His shameless talent behind the turntables has propelled him onto some of the biggest stages, and dance-floors around the world such as Output (NY), Flash (DC) and Kater Blau (Berlin). His productions have been picked up around the world, most prominently his collaboration with Ali Ajami which was released on John Digweed’s Bedrock imprint.
