The production of most parties in Cairo for the past couple of years has usually followed the same pattern; rarely playing outside the box - cue dark rooms with German DJs or fireworks and gogo dancers. We’ve been missing some colour!
Blurr's Ahmed Abou Samra and Coco Mokhtar have teamed up with Desperados to feed our need for adventure by bringing us their biggest production EVER, with one of the world's biggest and most successful parties, elrow. Taking place at Royal Mohamed Aly Club, the magical Nile-side island is set to pay witness to elrow's first Middle Eastern tour - with events planned in Lebanon and Egypt, among others.
The organisers have given us a sneak peak of what they have planned, promising something never witnessed in Egypt to date - not even the last elrow shindig of 2015 - and Desperados are the reason for it all. They aim to revolutionise the clubbing experience by creating bigger productions; combine that with Blurr and elrow, could you really ask for more? Previous elrow parties in Egypt have featured the likes of Toni Varga, De La Swing, and Oscar Aguillera. If you haven't heard about elrow - think of your local circus but multiply the confetti, the clowns, and the inflatables by a zillion and then throw in a soundtrack of the most banging tech house you've ever heard. They are releasing three tiers of tickets, each one said to be more expensive than the previous, with a limited number depending on when you purchase. So prepare yourself for Alice’s Wonderland on the 3rd week of October. The lineup will be announced three weeks before the party, which includes residents from elrow, Blurr, and a very special guest TBA.
