As part of Memphis Records’ series ‘Live at Memphis’, Egyptian indie artist Luka Salam delivered a soul-stirring rendition of her song 'Catreen' during a studio session at Memphis Studios. Joined by both local and international musicians, Luka's emotive performance resonated with themes of longing and self-exploration, complemented by the jazzy instrumentation of Tarek Hussien's keyboard chords. The performance also included contributions from Denmark-based trumpeter Nadia and cellist Mohamed Ahmed.

After breaking through the indie scene with her track ‘Hashrab Hashish’, Luka Salam has recently formed her indie folk musical project Luka Wel Batteekh, a genre blending collective. Her distinctive take on folk and indie music is marked by heartfelt vocals and hauntingly melancholic instrumentation.
