Geeza Records Brings Romanian Collective Sunrise Back to Egypt Nov 27

Cairo-based label and party series GEEZA Records has announced a collaborative showcase with Romania’s Sunrise on November 27, bringing the collective behind the iconic Sunwaves Festival to Egypt for the second time, following their first joint showcase in November 2025.

Taking place at ZED Park from 3 PM, GEEZA 009: Sunrise x GEEZA Records is headlined by Romanian underground heavyweight Raresh. As a founding pillar of the hypnotic Rominimal sound and co-creator of the influential [a:rpia:r] label, he is revered for his flawless vinyl mixing, seamless narrative continuity, and an uncanny ability to turn marathon DJ sets into deeply intimate, communal experiences. His sound centres on stripped-back, rolling basslines, dub-inflected textures and micro-samples, weaving vocals and percussion into fluid, ever-evolving compositions. A Sunwaves regular, Raresh has also played at some of electronic music’s most respected institutions, including Fabric in London, DC-10 and Amnesia in Ibiza, Robert Johnson in Frankfurt and the meticulously curated Houghton Festival in the UK.

Joining him is Romanian producer, DJ and organiser Bila, whose approach to electronic music pairs trippy sound design with leftfield experimentation. The lineup also brings together local favourites Bahaa, Heremit and Joey for a back-to-back set, alongside Youla, who opens the showcase.

The event arrives amid an active year for GEEZA Records, which has been deepening its commitment to Egypt’s homegrown electronic scene through the launch of its ‘Made in GEEZA’ event series, while continuing to expand its international bookings and collaborations.
