Miami-Based Rapper Hoosh Talks Overindulgence as Self-Medication in New Track '100'
Over his catalogue of releases, the Sudanese rapper has touched on a range of topics, including, race, identity and life in diaspora, but this time he gets even more introspective, with '100' talking of addiction in its widest sense, as he claims: "from relationships to drug usage, I overindulge to self medicate."

Sudanese, Miami-residing rapper, Hoosh, has quickly amassed a passionate following on social media for his lyrically intense raps, which tackle issues of identity, race and diaspora. More toned-down and low-key than his previous release, the socially-conscious tune, Golden, his latest release, 100, sees Hoosh lament on lost love, commitment and coping via substances.

Fellow Miami-based producer, B Wade, comes through on 100 with a nostalgic, spacious trap beat that contrasts Hoosh’s reverb soaked vocals with rumbling, tuned 808 kicks and a minimal percussion kit that leaves plenty of breathing room for Hoosh’s vocals. The track is at its best when the soft background melodies come back into the mix, adding some much needed counterpoint to Hoosh’s vocals and heightening the emotional energy of the track.
