Rap of the Week | Aug 5 - Aug 11
The playlist features picks from regional heavyweights like Small X and Shaw, along with Egyptian stars like Wezza Montaser and Moscow.

In this edition of our weekly series, Rap of the Week, we're spotlighting the best new releases from across the MENA region. Our picks feature fresh tunes from regional heavyweights like Bo9al, Small X and Shaw, as well as Egyptian stars like Moscow and Mahib Sleat.
Shaw, currently one of the most reserved talents in the North African hip-hop scene, demonstrates a new range of biting wordplay and unapologetic bravado on ‘Lewla 7adaria’, while Safi-born rap superstar Small X proves that he is the master at the dissing game with his latest, ‘DIKEÇ’.
In Cairo, rapper-producer Wezza Montaser returns in full command with ‘Garee2’, a self-produced, mixed, and mastered three-track EP. One of the album’s standout cuts is ‘2ol 3la Meen’, a hard-hitting tune imbued with drill aesthetics and Montaser’s signature harsh shaabi sound and rage-filled vocals, featuring Monika and ONUY. Meanwhile, rising Saudi rapper Mova teamed up with Sudanese MC Veto on a chill, breezy and very danceable hip-hop groove ‘Ansak’ for all the lovestruck out there.
The playlist also features new tracks from Moscow linking up with Nasser on ‘Meen Ytafy Nary’, part of his brand new album, and Mahib Sleat with ‘Farag’, featuring rising Cairene rapper Mared, along with Sudanese rap mogul, Montiyao with ‘KSHFF’, and more.
