Acclaimed NYC-based lebanese pianist and composer, Tarek Yamani, recently released his latest electro/jazz fusion singe ‘King Matar’, a six-minute progressive heater, filled with spacey synths, intense melodic arpeggios, and crisp prog-rock tinged drums holding down the rhythmic duties.
A tribute to legendary Lebanese Buzuq virtuoso, Matar Mohammed,’King Matar’ is one hell of a tribute, paying homage to the frenetic, infectious energy of Matar Mohammed’s live performances. The track a few months after Tarek Yamani and Igor Spallati’s ‘Standards Unplugged’ live performance for the 14th edition of the Transilvania Jazz Festival in November of 2020.
