In this new edition of ‘Shuffle’ - SceneNoise’s flagship cocktail playlist spotlighting standout releases across genres and musical styles from the past fortnight - we have new picks featuring the likes of Elyanna, Nadine El Roubi and Hamdi Ryder.
Palestinian-Chilean pop star Elyanna returns with ‘Bosa’, a flirtatious, cheeky pop tune about pursuing men rather than being the one pursued. Meanwhile, Egyptian producer and singer BOSA comes through with the flashy dance-pop cut ‘Sebni Aeish’, a nod to artists like Daft Punk and Kylie Minogue.
Moroccan R&B artist Nisy reflects on loss and grief on ‘Traumatised’, while Canadian-Egyptian duo Husa & Zeyada lean into indie rock on ‘To Belong’, taken from their newly released album.
Over in Beirut, rising selector Mikita comes through with an intricate mixture of deep house and dub, ‘Kavaal’, while Thoom offers a refreshing Arabic take on hyperpop with ‘I’m Going Back to Lebanon’.
The playlist also features Hamdi Ryder’s ‘Undisputed Truth’, Nadine El Roubi’s ‘Hibiscus’, Molotof’s ‘The Whale Alchemist’, and Yulyo’s ‘7SDO EL 7AL’.
