Rap of the Week | May 5 - May 11

On this edition of Rap of the Week, we’re tapping into fresh releases from some of the region’s heaviest hitters, including Shabjdeed, Abyusif, and Stormy, alongside the rising stars carving out their place in the scene.

Palestine’s BLTNM crew returns in full force this week as Shabjdeed and Touch drop the drum n bass-infused 'Kattal' (prod. Smokaholic). Meanwhile, Moroccan artist Najm unveils his sophomore album 'Fallen Angel', enlisting rap titan ElGrandeToto for the standout track 'GHALAT'. Also hailing from Morocco, Stormy sets the stage for his upcoming album ‘Desperado' with 'Per La Vita', a track defined by a delivery that is effortlessly cool yet subtly melancholic.

On the Egyptian front, Begad takes a sentimental turn with ‘KOLO BKHIR YA MAMA’, a tribute to his mother and the lead single from his eponymous three-track EP. Mahdy Madness keeps his momentum going with hazy, psychedelic trap on ‘Naar’, while veteran Abyusif lends his weight to '7aleyan Dawal Mota7', a collaboration with rising producer Omar Taai from Taai’s latest project, ‘Monologue'.
