We’re back with a new edition of our flagship weekly rap playlist, Rap of the Week, spotlighting the most compelling hip-hop drops from across the region.
Cairo-based Sudanese artist Montiyago digs inward on the brooding ‘Mataha’, while Algerian heavyweight Didine Canon 16 reasserts his dominance with the commanding ‘Rosalinda’, and Moroccan rapper Khtek ushers in a bold new chapter of her debut EP FCHKEL with ‘BAA9’, a razor-sharp collaboration with Villain.
The playlist also sees Libyan rapper Wave team up with Ahmed Knd on the tongue-in-cheek ‘El Le3ba’, alongside ‘Tsabarni’, a cross-regional link-up between Egyptian artist Mahib Sleat and Jordanian rapper The Synaptik, from Mahib’s latest EP, El Gharad.
