CHAMOS & Shayan Bring a Kurdish Classic to the Dancefloor on ‘Kevokim’
A Kurdish folk classic meets West Asian club energy on CHAMOS and Shayan's 'Kevokim'.
Kurdish-Dutch duo CHAMOS and North London vocalist Shayan's latest release 'Kevokim' gives new life to a classic Kurdish melody. Translating to "my dove," Kevokim is a term of endearment, of longing, of love held at a distance. Passed down through generations, the melody is reimagined for the dancefloor without losing what made it matter in to begin with.

Shayan’s vocals though, stand as the star of the show, with a performance that is both driving and faithful to the song’s history. There's a modern edge underneath the celebratory feel; the kind of record that makes sense both on a proper sound system and in the context of the wedding music it draws from.
CHAMOS have been road-testing this one in their live sets for months, and it shows. The track has the confidence of something that already knows what it does to a room. A second collaboration between the two, and a good sign of where things could go from here.
