From the SoundCloud Vault: MENA Rap’s Lost Files

In its early days, Soundcloud became a vital hub for regional hip-hop, a digital back alley where artists experimented freely, built a cult following, and laid the groundwork for the vibrant rap scene we see today. Before streaming giants dominated, it was the raw, unfiltered space where many rappers first dropped their tracks, often leaving behind a fascinating, and sometimes forgotten, archive. 

The SceneNoise team dug into that clout era of SoundCloud, compiling a list of essential cuts by some of the region’s biggest rappers and some mystery ones, that remain exclusively on the platform, offering a glimpse into the formative years of a diverse and ever-evolving sound.
