Having formed in Jordan during the country’s boom of alternative rock music, Albaitil Ashwai started with a colorful sound inspired by rock, metal, reggae, and Arabic music from across the MENA region.

These days, the act has switched gears, heading in a more synth-pop centric direction, while tastefully incorporating some musical ideas from Arabic culture.

With the help of Egyptian producer Kubbara, Albaitil Ashwai’s latest album has been crystalizing into a unique blend of microtonal guitar riffs, rubbery synthesizers, and catchy drum beats, resulting in a fresh sound which we can’t wait to hear more of.
