3ala Mazag: Sarrah Abdelrahman [Curated Playlist]

We’re back with a new instalment of our ‘3ala Mazag’ series, where artists and industry tastemakers soundtrack their moods, influences, and personal obsessions. This time around, Egyptian actress Sarrah Abdelrahman curates an exclusive playlist of the songs that have shaped her taste, and continue to fuel her creative energy.

Long before digital content became second nature for celebrities, Sarrah was among the early adopters, carving out space online with a voice that felt both personal and unfiltered. Her acting debut came in the 2009 box-office hit 1000 Mabrook alongside Ahmed Helmy, but it was her standout performance in the cult-favourite TV series Sabe’ Gar (2017) that firmly cemented her presence on screen. Beyond acting, Sarrah remains deeply engaged in environmental advocacy, social causes, and women’s empowerment initiatives.

Her playlist features an eclectic selection of jams, spanning various genres, from rock staples like Radiohead’s ‘Creep’ and Stevie Nicks’ ‘Edge of Seventeen’ to contemporary Arabic pop cuts such as Tul8te’s ‘Qesm El Shakawy’, and shaabi classics like Hassan El Asmar’s ‘Ketab Hayaty’.
