Darb 1718, that place of all things cultured and cool, will be hosting the opening of the Out To Sea? exhibition today. The Plastic Garbage Project began in Zurich, has toured Europe, and finally made its way to the Middle East – Egypt is the very first Arab country it hits. The project will be giving you the low down on the hazards of plastic garbage in the sea (did you know that not a single cubic meter of seawater is free of plastic particles?). There will be educational and art activities, and they'll also be teaching you on how to upcycle i.e. turn crappy plastic garbage into seriously cool stuff. They're also encouraging you to come in your brightest, mo0st kaleidoscopic colours so have a field day with your outfit!
The exhibition opening programme is as follows
- Guided tours throughout the exhibition
- Recycled Art Bazaar!
- Silent discussion and debate
- Moulid games, decoration and prizes!
- Exclusive acts and performances
- Music performance by Like Jelly
