Following the success of their previous seven editions, which featured over 20 A/V performances, Mapping Possibilities is returning on 14th December in the form of an extensive, week-long mini festival. Over the years, the innovative audio-visual collective have been hosting performances by self-taught, experimental artists with the aim of exposing their work and securing them public traction. This year, taking place between Zawya cinema, Medrar and the Contemporary Image Collective (CIC), the event will showcase reproductive and interactive live visual experimentation from artists utilising coding methods and open-source programming alongside more "old-school" means such as video and 3D animation. On 19th December, following the sound & design production workshops and panel discussions happening between the 14th and 18th, Dutch media artist Mark IJzerman will be kickstarting the A/V performance roster. Set to follow him are S S S S, GIL and Nadah ElShazly (the latter two on 20th December) who will  reveal their abstract electronic sounds comprising ambient, drone, glitch and IDM, along with interwoven visuals by Nurah Farahat & Youssef Ibrahim, Islam Shabana and Mostafa El Baroody respectively. On the night of the 20th, to rap up the festival, Mapping Possibilities will be hosting an intimate closing party at Glasshouse which will feature signature, morphing electronica from a highly-anticipated b2b DJ set with Rama and Zuli, along with Tag Money, aka SSSTAG$$$.
