As the Middle East continues to establish itself as a hotbed for undiscovered talents, the major western record labels (UMG, Warner and Sony) have each begun expanding into the MENA region, setting up new headquarters and setting their sights on signing some of the regions best underground talents and bringing them up into the limelight.
The most recent of these signees is Jordanian MC, The Synaptik, who recently signed to Warner Music’s Middle East Division. The Synaptik is not the first MENA-based rapper to sign with Warner, the first being Chyno With A Why? earlier this year. By taking this step, Synaptik joins the ranks of Chyno and Morocco’s Issam, who signed with UMG earlier this year as well.
The Jordanian/Palestinian rapper stands as one of the most popular in the region, with his 2018 debut album, Om Al Mawjat, catapulting him into fame that subsequently lead him to touring Europe and collaborating with some of the biggest rappers in the Middle East over the ubsequent two years.
