On March 12th, one of Lebanon’s most prolific clubs switched off the lights, its fist-pumping hands shackled by the insipid Coronavirus that has ravaged the planet, its people and any semblance of a normal life. Dramatic? Maybe, but it’s been a hard a few months.
The stunningly designed underground B 018 in Beirut’s Karantina district is rightly credited by many as being one of the driving forces in putting Beirut’s nightlife scene on the map since moving to its unique location in 1998 – it was, after-all, voted one of the best nightclubs on the planet for three consecutive years (2004-2006) by Wallpaper* Magazine.
But we digress. The point is, you can’t keep a good institution of nightlife, music and culture down and the folks at B 018 quickly pivoted to host a string of streams.
The aptly named B 018 Sessions is now set to come to a close, as the club prepares to reopen - but they’re planning to go out with a bang. On July 2nd, 3rd and 4th (yes, that’s three days) B 018 are streaming a rather tasty line-up to binge on that includes Ziad Ghosn, Eli Atala, Roland Bachour, Ronin, Vanessa Abboud, Gaël, Jason Kaakoush and Fonzo.
After that, the club is set to reopen its rooftop space, though a date has yet to be officially announced, leaving Beirut clubbers on the edge of their disinfected seats.
