The Cairo Opera House is about to host the 32nd Arab Music Festival and Conference, showcasing the rich diversity of Arab music from October 20th to November 1st.
According to the scientific committee headed by Rasha Tamom, the festival will place a special focus on four themes: traditional Arab music, contemporary Arab music, Arab folk music, and creative experimental music. Conductor Hani Farahat will lead the festival this year, succeeding the talented Jihan Morsi.
With over 100 artists from 10 Arab countries having participated last year, this year’s edition of the festival will span multiple venues outside of the Opera Houses in Cairo, Alexandria and other governorates, and will feature various workshops and contests for singers, songwriters, and instrumental performers.
