A week after rapper Wegz was announced as a performer at this year’s All Africa Music Awards, another representitive of the Egyptian rap scene has been revealed as part of the event, which is taking place in Lagos, Nigeria between November 19th and 21st.
Tarek Nojara, founder of music label, El Batron, is set to give a talk at Africa Music Business Summit, a parallel event to the awards. Taking place on November 19th at 9AM (Lagos Time), 'Monetising Music in Africa' will see Nojara call on his own remarkable rags-to-riches story, one that has seen him positioned as one of the most influential and known figures on the scene who isn’t a rapper or producer. In the span of five years, Nojara has become one of Egypt’s most prolific media entrepreneurs, with his Nojara Productions also producing videos for the likes of Marwan Pablo and last year’s Molotof and Shabjdeed collaboration, ‘Jaw Ard’, as well as commercials for some of the Egypt’s biggest brands.

Hailed for its ptogressive approach to management, this year also saw El Batron launch a new rap gig series, B Nights, the debut edition of which featured Lege-Cy, Arsenik, Dareen and Jordanian-Palestinian heavyweight, The Synaptik.
