A grand assembly of Arab artists is gearing up to grace the stage in Saudi Arabia for a concert titled ‘Baligh Hamdi's Masterpieces’, a tribute to the remarkable Egyptian composer as part of Riyadh Season.
The concert will feature a diverse lineup of artists, including Egyptian sensation Angham, Algerian star Saber Al Rubai, Syrian singer Assala, Iraqi talent Majid Al Mohandis, Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram, and Saudi artist Talal Salama. Led by Maestro Walid Fayyad, the concert is set to take place on November 9th at the Abu Bakr Salem Theatre in Riyadh City Boulevard.
Baligh Hamdi's legacy is rooted in his ability to blend Egyptian folk melodies and rhythms with contemporary music concepts. His compositions often feature a classical orchestral sound, enriched by the use of string instruments, and occasionally fused with electronic keyboards and guitars, creating a unique and timeless musical fusion.
Throughout his career, Hamdi collaborated with a plethora of iconic Arab singers, including luminaries like Umm Kulthum, Abdel Halim Hafez, Shadia, Layla Murad, Najat Al Saghira, Fayza Ahmed, and Warda, with whom he was married for a decade.
Tickets for the concert will be available starting November 1st through the official Riyadh Season website.
