Hisham Kharma & Nayer Nagui to Perform in Alex & Cairo Sep 11 & 18

Egyptian composer and producer Hisham Kharma and maestro Nayer Nagui are set to share the stage for the first time for two live concerts in Alexandria and Cairo this September. The performances will take place at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina on September 11th and the Grand Theater of the Cairo Opera House on September 18th.

For the concerts, Nagui will lead an orchestra in a new interpretation of some of Kharma’s most prominent compositions, bringing together the producer’s contemporary electronic sound with expansive orchestral arrangements and a fresh symphonic vision.

One of Egypt’s most recognised contemporary composers, Kharma has built a distinctive body of work spanning immersive electronic compositions, film and TV scores, including ‘Al Nehaya’, as well as charting albums and singles such as ‘Valley of the Kings’. His work often sits at the intersection of electronic production, cinematic soundscapes and orchestral music.

Nagui, meanwhile, has established himself as one of Egypt’s leading conductors, composers and musical directors, championing the country’s symphonic repertoire both locally and internationally. His most recent high-profile performance saw him conduct the ‘Symphony of Humanity’ at the grand opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, leading a 120-piece orchestra comprising musicians from 79 countries.

The September concerts will also feature a lineup of guest artists, with further names to be announced.

في تعاون موسيقي يجمعهما للمرة الأولى، يلتقي الموسيقار هشام خرما بالمايسترو ناير ناجي في حفلتين بالقاهرة والإسكندرية، لتقديم مجموعة من مؤلفات خرما في تجربة جديدة تجمع بين الموسيقى المعاصرة والتوزيع الأوركسترالي. وتقام الحفلة الأولى يوم الجمعة 11 سبتمبر في مكتبة الإسكندرية بمشاركة أوركسترا المكتبة، قبل أن يجتمع الثنائي مجددًا يوم الجمعة 18 سبتمبر على المسرح الكبير بدار الأوبرا المصرية. ويقدم خرما وناجي خلال الحفلين مجموعة من أبرز مؤلفات خرما، من بينها "الأندلس"، "الرحلة الأولى"، "بدر" و"وادي الملوك"، إلى جانب مشاركات خاصة لعدد من الفنانين كضيوف شرف.

ويأتي التعاون بعد إطلاق هشام خرما أحدث ألبوماته "أُفُق" (UFUQ)، الذي يضم 10 أعمال تتنوع بين المقطوعات الآلية والأغاني، بمشاركة مجموعة من الفنانين من خلفيات موسيقية مختلفة، من بينهم المطربة المغربية أميمة جعواني في "أيها القلب"، وأليساندرا كوتا في "Runaway"، إلى جانب إيليم في "Le Silence". ويواصل خرما من خلال الألبوم والحفلات الجديدة تقديم تجربته التي تمزج بين التأثيرات الشرقية والغربية والموسيقى الإلكترونية، مع إضافة البعد الأوركسترالي إلى مؤلفاته في عرض حي يقدّم أعماله من زاوية مختلفة.
