Electronic music festival SUNWAVES will make its MENA debut this March at The Dunes Camp, within the vast, stunning landscape of the Al Wadi desert. The festival is widely known for its eclectic lineups that spotlight a slew of electronic sub-genres, while consciously shying away from commercial music.

“SUNWAVES emerged as a counter-offer to what festivals offered in 2007, with no interest in fireworks, crazy lights, smoke machines, and mainstream music,” as written by the organizers. “The idea of the festival was to create a community that is connected through electronic music and respect.”

Launched in 2007, the festival soon became the biggest biannual music festival in Romania, going on for 5 days and 5 nights. In the time since, the Romanian festival unlocked new locations around the world, kicking off its Zanzibar edition in 2021.

On March 2-5th, the SUNWAVES is heading to the UAE for the first time, featuring a lineup of “internationally renowned DJs and producers, performing on two state-of-the-art stages set amidst the beautiful dunes of the Al Wadi desert,” as tweeted by the festival.

With DJs from around the globe, the line up includes Mahony, Seth Troxler, Andrei Ciubuc, Billa, Dubfire, and more echoing through Al Wadi desert’s glittering landscapes in Ras Al Khaimah. You can find the full line up on SUNWAVE's website.
