Though he’s
based in Detroit these days, Salar Ansari will forever be tethered to Dubai’s
Analog Room as one of the founding members and residents. Born and raised in
Tehran, Salar has helped in carving out an underground scene in UAE and 2020
has been a prolific year for him personally.
A string of
releases has seen him explore cross section of downtempo and dance this year, but
his latest release takes him on a bit of a detour. With electric guitar and
bass taking centre-stage against a lo-fi trip-hop beat, ‘Aroom Bash’ has a
meditative, reflective quality. The guitar twinkles and gleams, while indiscernible
vocals delivered almost like spoken-word give it a kind-of godliness, as if it
were all coming from above.
